Thanks Tomohiro!
It's amazingly easily understandable model.

I think this spherical joint would work.
We might replace the square joint in Minori's 0304proposal.

But, just in case, remaining the square might be more agreable.
So, could you make also the square version?

It seems to be quite feasible to resit both vertical and lateral forces, by simple method. But I am not really convinced that what kind of proportion you can provide a spherical joint per unit space. Apparently, there will be more holes than spherical joint (one joint requires 4 cutout disks), and not all the spheres are applicable for every hole - there shall be certain combination among balls and holes. Also, as I have mentioned in other comment, it is critical to figure out the diameter of balls and holes, so certain combination of them will provide simple unit dimension for vertical layers. It is critical that horizontal plywood meets in certain levels, so it will be tied-up tightly. Please show how the certain combination of holes and spheres can create unit height.

Also, this detail needs to consider the internal corner issue of CNC Router - router cannot cut sharp internal corners unleke lasercutting. OK?
