this proposal might be some kinds of rules
to construct the general form.

me make this proposal.
the bit was written in rectangle,but it can be any kind of shapes ,and that might make more interesting form.

１つのビットが今回は四角で構成されていますが、変形することでもっと面白い形状になるかと思います。

I think this is one great idea of how to define the negative space as interior. The rule of distribution can be more considered, so it can also be applied for joint distribution (if joint detail has several variation in shape and system). Keep on good work - gotta wrap ideas up into solid and very integrated whole idea.
The composition seems really interesting. It might be better if you could set the rule of arrangement for teahouse bits based on the research Naruki has brought up instead of placing it randomly. For example, you could apply the concept of cellular automaton if you see each existing teahouse bits as a cell. Each cell could have its own rule to affect neighbor cells (adding/deleting specific type of cell, rotate itself if there's specific type of cell on next to it...etc).
If you have came up this as a group idea, please have a dense discussion with joinery detail group to enhance your idea in terms of concept and construction.
